Accidentally added trial key to existign account -- am I screwed?
Yes, I filed a support ticket... but I hope someone here knows if I've done something "bad" to my account.
I bought one of the Nightfall pre-releases this morning. Not being able to find my glasses, I asked my wife to read the pre-order key to me as I added it to my account.
She read me the "Trial Account" key instead of the Pre-Release key -- so I added a "trial period" to my existing account! Now I'm worried that my account will go dark in 14 days! Arrrgghhh!
When I go into manage keys, it shows that I'm authorized for Prohpesies and Factions, notes that I've added 3 character slots, and it lists 14-day/10-hour trials!
Am I safe, or am I screwed?

CompUSA had only two copies on the shelves when I stopped by this morning.
I suspect it isn't a problem, either, but I'm ratehr paranoid about software. I write programs for a living...

I called Comp USA just now and got transfered to their game expert, who happens to be a GW gamer and knew what he was talking about. He said he may get like 5 copies in tomorrow or Tuesday. He took down my name and number to put one aside for me. He won't be there Tuesday so I'll just have to call them as if there is no hold for me to better my chances of getting one.
I'm just hoping that extra character slot is an actual extra character slot. Not something that's only good during the preview event, then disappears, then reappears when I get the actual game in October. I don't want another PC Gamer magazine minipet situation. Pardon my sarcasm but I don't think I'm liking this chasing down bonus items and special access whatever's here and there. Just give us the game in October and keep it simple. Such teases can annoy people even if they're not interested in them.

Actually you don't get the bonus slot nor the bonus weapons til you add your full retail Nightfall key.

I know that, and that *isn't* my problem. Re-read the original message, it has nothign to do with Nightfall items.

I as well don't want to go off topic; but don't worry, when you add your bonus pack and retail Nightfall key to an existing account you will get 3 more character slots.

To original post, did you still add the pre release key? Did it work?

You will be fine, many accounts have a trial key, and full keys, imagine if you hand the trial key to a friend, and they use it, they later purchase a full key, and add it to the account, Its just a similar thing..
so dont panic, you'll be fine

@chaotic: What happened after the trial key expired? Was everything fine with your existing account?

I installed the pre-release number, and it worked just fine. My account now has 9 character slots, and there seems to be no difference between it and the others.
One of the biggest advantages is the special weapons. Each character you create in Nightfall gets a special Dervish and Paragon weapon when you enter /bonusitems. They both require a specialty level of 9, so you can't use them for a while. But both of them are pretty powerful, and well worth the money.
